What I should do when I don’t know?

Decisions are a part of life. But what do you do when you’re not sure which one to make? Take a deep breath no matter what decision you’re having trouble making. We’ve compiled a list of practical tactics in this post to assist you in deciding what to do next. Having no idea what to do may feel intimidating, but you can do it—we have faith in you!

1. It’s all right that the entire future is impossible to predict

Remember. What happens next is a mystery to you. The course of life can take many fascinating turns. However, the journey will be more interesting and enjoyable if we keep pursuing the things that we enjoy doing, whether for work or for recreation.

Maybe you’re currently into crafting jewelry. You may be able to sell it. You might have gone on to another craft in five years or you might be a successful jewelry designer. Nothing changes. You can always draw on your jewelry design skills to support you in the future with other endeavors.

2. Make an effort to tolerate discomfort

Life can be uncomfortable at times. We occasionally lack the resources to complete all of our goals. If there is anything you really want to do, you have to be willing to put up with some discomfort in order to do it.

For instance, I wish to run the mushing sled dogs. I had to relocate my family to an Alaskan cabin from my nice suburban home in order to accomplish that. We don’t have running water or regular power and our cabin is considerably smaller than our previous home. But we don’t mind those inconveniences because we live in a lovely location and I get to live my dream.

3. Life is unpredictable. Accept it

I believed I was in complete control. I lived in a beautiful house in the woods and had a fantastic job. Then, all in the same week, I turned 40. Lost my house. And got fired. Then I discovered I was expecting. A quiet week. I spent a few days moping around on the couch. Sad but eventually we got our act together. Came up with a plan. And relocated to Alaska.

Turn doubt on its head by assuming it. Every negative event presents a chance for positive change. In addition, when anything goes wrong, it’s actually never too late to change your life’s direction!

4. Stop procrastinating and overcome distractions

Your age is not advancing. Unfortunately, that is true. You can find yourself at the end of your life with nothing to show for it but a lot of Facebook posts and a bunch of TV episodes you just had to watch if you don’t start making the time to pursue your aspirations.

Whether your desire is to become a wealthy and well-known computer guru. A professional skateboarder. Or a jewelry designer. You better start moving if you’re serious about achieving it.

Don’t hesitate to start. Get to work and turn off Facebook notifications. Just daydreaming about how wonderful you could be won’t get you anywhere.

5. Pose questions to yourself

Spend time on yourself. Big questions to ponder. Even tiny ones.

Find out more about you. Meditate. Make a list of the things you are interested in and could do if money and time were no object. Think big. Put your thoughts to rest and visualize doing those things in your head.

By posing important questions to yourself, you may create an unstoppable motivation engine that will keep you moving forward no matter what obstacles come your way.

6. Give back or assist someone

Try volunteering or job shadowing for a career or pastime you’re interested in, such as dog grooming or being a zookeeper. To see if it’s something you want to do for a living.

Without taking action, no amount of daydreaming will be of any use to you. Every now and again, we decide we want to do something before actually doing it. We come to the realization that it might not actually be the type of employment we enjoy.

Or perhaps there’s a bigger picture than we first thought. Before deciding to give up our existing lives in order to pursue our dreams. It is crucial to get firsthand experience and read extensively from individuals who have had firsthand experience.

7. Saving up

Getting a job doing something — anything — and saving up the money to enable you to do it may be important if you need to move or return to school in order to pursue your new passion.

I put in a lot of effort over a long period of time to develop my writing and editing portfolio. And now I can work from my tiny cabin, get paid and use the money to buy the supplies and food I need to maintain my dogsled team.

Wouldn’t it be wonderful to be able to earn money solely from jogging dogs? Sure. However, it’s not feasible at this time while I’m creating and developing my team.

8. Take the chance

If you don’t open the door when opportunity comes knocking, how will you be able to seize it? Opportunities should be seized when they arise.

Though it occasionally isn’t the proper moment, it’s irrelevant. Chances present themselves as they do. If you don’t respond when the opportunity knocks on your door. It might pass you by and go to another door.

Concluding Remarks

No action is an action in and of itself. Which is the most crucial thing to keep in mind when deciding what to do with your life. You have to make choices and try things. Even if you end up detesting them or preferring to do something else.

Bear in mind that starting over is never too late. You won’t regret making an effort and failing. But you will regret not making an effort at all when it comes to living.
