The Kentucky horse race on May 6 will be preceded by the Spring 2023 meet at Churchill Downs. First post is scheduled at 6 p.m. on Saturdays, when the gates open at 5 p.m. Through Ticketmaster.com, tickets may be purchased for a price between $24 and $89 for the event. Races will be place on Thursday through Sunday in May, Memorial Day, and Wednesday through Sunday in June and July during the Spring Encounter, which runs from May 6 to July 3. The first posting begin at 5 p.m. on Thursday and at 12:45 p.m. on Wednesday, Friday, Saturday and Sunday following Derby Week.
On May 19 and June 17, the night race, which starts at six o’clock in the evening, will occur. The $1 million Stephen Foster Class first is one of the six betting events scheduled for July 1.
1. Programme on May 5th, Friday
The candidates for the Kentucky Oaks Wet Paint and The Alys Look, trained by Brad Cox, will assemble on Thursday morning at Churchill Downs on Friday, May 5. Gates open at 9 a.m., first turn is at 10:30 a.m., and there will be 13 races. At 7 o’clock, the last turn will occur. Six additional holdings are included in the $1.25 million Kentucky Oaks first-place race. Regular admission is $62, and Ticketmaster.com offers all-inclusive box seats and food choices.
2. Programme on May 6th, Saturday
First return for the Kentucky Horse Race in 2023 will be at 10:30 a.m., with gates opening at 9 a.m. on Saturday, May 6. There are 14 races, with the last one starting at 8 p.m. In addition to the $3 million first-place prize, there are eight additional stakes races. Regular entry is $82, and Ticketmaster.com offers all-inclusive box seat and dinner options.
3. Observing the Kentucky Derby
At 12 p.m. ET, the Kentucky Derby will begin and run through 7:30 p.m. ET on NBC, Peacock, NBCSports.com, and the NBC Sports app. Additionally, the Breeders Cup, Preakness Stakes, and Kentucky Oaks will all appear on NBC in 2022. The Kentucky Derby is held at Churchill Downs in Louisville, Kentucky.
