The quickest and tastiest method to turn leftovers into something more than the sum of their parts is to make fried rice. The only components you need to prepare fried rice are heat, rice, and oil, despite the fact that we occasionally consider certain additives to be standard (eggs, garlic). You are free to tack on whatever else.

1. Ingredients in fried rice

  1. White long grain rice that is day old and cool keeps from becoming mushy. Little white onion
  2. Peas and carrots are examples of vegetables. You can also include more vegetables such bell pepper, broccoli, cauliflower, asparagus, snow peas, and cabbage.
  3. Eggs
  4. Sesame Oil Soy Sauce

2. Progress

Step 1: Rice should be prepared as directed on the package. Set apart.

If you also happen to have rice left over from another meal, this dish will come in handy.

Step 2: Onion and garlic should be added to a big skillet or wok that has vegetable oil heated to medium-high heat. Soft for 2 to 3 minutes, or until onions are tender. To prevent the garlic from burning, make sure to stir it occasionally. Adding peas and carrots, simmer for 1 to 2 minutes, or until slightly thawed. If you use fresh vegetables, you’ll need to make adjustments this time.

A very hot wok and enough of oil are two of the secrets to making great fried rice that prevents the vegetables from burning to the bottom.

Step 3: Add cooked rice and raise the temperature to medium-high. Simmer for a further 2 to 3 minutes, or until the rice is nicely heated and beginning to brown.

Step 4: Lower the heat and press the rice to the pan’s edges to create a hole in the center for the eggs. Eggs should be cracked into the pan’s bottom.

Step 5: Eggs should be scrambled in the center of the pan. Once the eggs are done cooking, mix them into the rice.

Step 6: Pour soy sauce and sesame oil into a bowl and top with rice. Toss frequently to ensure that the sauce is distributed throughout the rice.

Step 7: Add chopped green onions on the top before serving this fried rice. As additional garnishes, you could also use toasted sesame seeds and cilantro.

One of my all-time favorite dishes to recreate at home from takeout is vegetable fried rice. Making it at home makes it simpler to manage the sweetness, saltiness, and increase the amount of vegetables! This fried rice is something that our family prepares with whatever vegetables are available at least once a week.
